HTC Supersonic – The Next HTC Android Superphone?

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

I just love how HTC names their phones, and with a name like this, is this device destined to be the next HTC Android superphone?  The current Android superphone, which I don’t really consider a superphone at all, the Google Nexus One, may have some nice hardware specifications for an Android phone, but I don’t think that it will hold the mantle for long.  The boygeniusreport website was tipped off yesterday by someone claiming that the HTC Supersonic is a real HTC product, but I would take this with a rather large pinch of salt, since the screenshot from the system settings say that it is running Android 3.0 – the first time I’ve heard about it, anywhere, in this galaxy and in this reality; all the more surprising considering that the Nexus One was just released with Android 2.1, piping hot from the oven.

iPhone OS 3.1 Out To Developer Community

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

apple_logoBarely three weeks after the release of the iPhone OS 3.0, comes news, via techcrunch, that OS 3.1 has been released to the Apple developer community.  Details on changes from 3.0 to 3.1 are very scarce, the readme accompanying the release doesn’t give away much.  This is rather surprising, since the jump from 3.0 to 3.1 is rather large in terms of firmware revisions, especially considering the timing.  Though there have been sporadic reports of battery life issues with 3.0 surely this is not sufficient to warranty such a large change in firmware revision numbers?  Or maybe they’ve decided to add in video recording ability for the older iPhone3G!  Yay…yeah, keep on dreaming…
