The HTC Wildfire will be available from tomorrow onwards in Malaysia. Some retailers/resellers have already jumped the gun and started selling the handset – I believe we had a reader in Johor Bahru who bought a unit of the Wildfire at RM 1,299 at the JB PC Fair. The sad part is, the official recommended retail price (RRP) of the Wildfire is apparently only RM 1,199!
At this price, I think it just blows the rest of the competition out of the water. There is no longer any need to consider the alternatives such as the Huawei U8220 nor the CSL MI300 – although both are cheaper, they are not sufficiently cheaper to offset the “HTC factor”. This factor, is, of course, the “hackability” value of the Wildfire – with the xda-developers community behind it, there’s very little that cannot be achieved!
Oh great, just got myself a HTC android, now they going to launch it tomorrow

but i believe the cheapest android phone now would be the x10 mini, Ap set ~RM850. if dont mind a smaller screen, smaller body and Android 1.6 though..

Hei … I made the jump to Android … my first Android phone .. HTC Wildfire, I have to say very good built quality and not bad for RM1k plus …. getting it today official set and its black in colour. Alpha Dog want to do a review on it?
