O2, Palm’s exclusive partner for the Palm Pre, launched the Pre today in the UK and Ireland. It’s only available on a postpaid basis in the UK, while interestingly, over in Ireland, it’s actually available on a prepaid basis. But whether the prepaid Pre (that sounds strange!) is SIM-locked to O2 is unknown, although over in the UK, when the Pre is available eventually on a prepaid basis, it’s confirmed to be SIM-locked to O2.
And the price of the O2 Ireland prepaid Pre? A very princely €419, approximately RM 2,102. You can bet your bottom dollar, as the Americans say, that it will definitely be making its way here to Malaysia via the underwater illegal “approved permit”/grey market, and will probably sell for a price that requires one to pawn the soul of his/her next unborn child to the devil.

Apparently, arms and legs aren’t worth much these days…

@awesomo, the value of arms and legs has always been overstated. Now, souls – that’s another matter altogether!
