@D.A.D,HeHe!yeah i know it's too much ask. It's just that since HTC is naming this phone as HD2,so perhaps it could be associated with some form of HD playback or recording.I know we don't need it by today's standard, but somehow if we want it,we can use it.I'm really nutz over display and resolution. That's why,i always emphasized on HD's.I believe with the higher density resolution (in PPi)and the smaller the dot pitch a screen has,the clearer and sharper the display will be.It will make a difference even on a small display.I know one day,the phone's resolution will go up to SXGA or UXGA standard.Who knows, ya' know............

well, HD2 looks good in terms of specs, but in the long run, there are some things in come into mind:

- will it support winmo7? so far, there is no clear "yes", so just have to assume otherwise. it might the case within half a year of the HD2 available in the market, other phones which are confirmed to be capable of winmo7 will be out there (with winmo6.5 initially of course, but able to upgrade later).

- hows the battery life to support its vast functions? earlier someone mentioned omnia2 with amoled and 1500mah battery. undoubtly that combination, with the slight smaller screen gives a good per charge run for the phone. no point having a 'superphone' but that battery gives out in early evenings.

@Ian Ng, I would say that without having either of these phones in my hands right now, the HD2 wins. Hands down.

@Ken77, sadly, as I understand it, mobile phone batteries don't "work" the same way as ordinary batteries. Check out this extended battery for the T-Mobile G1, aka HTC Dream - it has to come with a special battery door to accommodate it! -> http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy26tmg1-bk.htm

Also, if you check online for extended batteries for netbooks, the high capacity ones will "protrude" outwards - either towards the back or downwards.

@Ken77, I think a dedicated GPU in a mobile device is unnecessary because of the hit on battery life. Plus, what apps could possibly need a dedicated GPU? A 1GHz processor should be fast enough to handle the most demanding of mobile graphics requirements nowadays, I think. Even on the iPhone3GS, it's already pretty good performance, at least to me!

I don't know about rendering HD videos on other devices other than the i8910 HD. When you try to play videos with resolutions not supported by the phone, most phones will simply not play them. Why on earth would you want to play, for example, 1280 x 720 pixel video on a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 screen? Firstly, the file size would be atrocious; secondly, because of the size of the screen, there will not be any noticeable difference between an HD and non-HD video; and finally, unless you rip these HD movies yourself, you will not find many of them on the net, and even if you do, I hope you've got a really fat pipe to pull them down! Not that I want to discourage you or anything, but I'm just saying, ya' know... :D

i'm very interested in this phone. My choices are the HD2 or Omnia2, so if you could make a comparison, that's be splendid.

@D.A.D,that would make the phone look even bulkier and ugly.HTC should just make, the optional battery looks like the same size as the original, but only increase the MaH capacity on it.I believe it's possible, because i've come across seeing those AA rechargeable batteries, where the sizes are standard, only the capacity is different.

@D.A.D,thanks.HeHe,any area is fine for me,i love driving!.D.A.D,do you think this phone has a dedicated graphics processor as i can't find elsewhere for answer. If it does have one,do you think it is powerful enough to playback HD videos on it?In my opinion,i think 1.0Ghz CPU+GPU can render 720p smoothly, just like the i8910.
This phone is definitely worth buying and it's a huge bonus if it can playback High Definition videos on it's huge 4.3"size screen.
