Here’s another video of the upcoming superphone from HTC, the HD2, which I’ve covered extensively on this site. It’s entirely in Greek, being demonstrated by an official from HTC, I presume, judging from the flow of the conversation (not that I speak Greek or anything!). This time, at around the 2 minute plus mark in the video, we see a demonstration of multi touch in the built in Internet Explorer Mobile browser – the pinch to zoom, so far only seen in the Microsoft Zune, Microsoft’s answer to the Apple iPod. I guess the Zune’s bragging rights of having the only multi touch IE Mobile browser has come to an end then. I believe this is also the first video where we are seeing multi touch on IE Mobile on the HD2.
Here’s a size comparison picture between the HD2, the Toshiba TG01, another Windows Phone which also uses the Qualcomm 1GHz processor, and the omnipresent iPhone. The HD2 doesn’t look big at all despite its large screen of 4.3 inches, in fact, it’s not that much wider than the iPhone. Interesting. It would be nice to hold one in the hand to see how comfortably it fits on an Asian hand, rather than a huge European hand. Believe me, I’ve begged to have access to a preview unit, no luck so far, but then I’ve never been very good at begging.
Also, the Footprints application is much faster and the transitions much smoother than previous videos I’ve seen. I think it’s got to do with the fast 1GHz Qualcomm processor that does the heavy lifting.

If you buy it from Clove.co.uk, you can get it for RM2,508 not inclusive of postage (which wouldnt cost too much). I am quite certain this is cheaper than the release price in Malaysia
