Barely three weeks after the release of the iPhone OS 3.0, comes news, via techcrunch, that OS 3.1 has been released to the Apple developer community. Details on changes from 3.0 to 3.1 are very scarce, the readme accompanying the release doesn’t give away much. This is rather surprising, since the jump from 3.0 to 3.1 is rather large in terms of firmware revisions, especially considering the timing. Though there have been sporadic reports of battery life issues with 3.0 surely this is not sufficient to warranty such a large change in firmware revision numbers? Or maybe they’ve decided to add in video recording ability for the older iPhone3G! Yay…yeah, keep on dreaming…
Looks like they wanna follow Nokia in terms of firmware updates….

@Jack, it’s worrying when they have to release firmware updates so soon after a device’s availability. It means that the software QC folks are not doing their jobs properly!
