Apparently Asus’ latest eeePC (I think it’s the latest, it’s hard to keep up when Asus releases one every few hours!), the 11.6″ eeePC 1101H which I initially covered here, now has a WWAN enabled sibling, named the 1101HGo. The 1101HGo has an embedded 3G/HSDPA module within, so you can go wireless wherever you are, as long as there is a 3G/GSM signal to latch on to. This seems to be a growing trend as we move forward, and should become more commonplace once the prices of these embedded modules get cheaper. To accommodate the increased power requirements of the embedded WWAN module, the 1101HGo comes with a larger battery capacity compared to the 1101H; but whether this increased capacity will still be enough to match the claimed 9.5 – 10 hour operation time of the 1101H remains to be seen. Personally, I’m very sceptical. If I can achieve just 6 hours of operation time with moderate surfing, I’d be happy.

If all performance claims made by Asus comes near to 90 % facts ,
then this is our dream machine ( for now… )

@backStreetGluttons, if they can meet 75% of that claimed number, I’d be ecstatic!

Asus is coming out with new models faster than rabbits getting it on, man! Shheesh! I wonder what is their market strategy… blitzkreig?

@Jack, just like in real life, when it is almost impossible to resist the urge to go forth and multiply, so the same is true for the business world. They call this “market fragmentation” in economics. It’s where sellers flood the market with multiple versions of the same product in the hope that if a new competitor should come in, it would prove extremely difficult to win a large market share from the incumbent – just look at the detergent industry!
