Talk about going from one ridiculous name to the next. SonyEricsson today confirmed the final name for the Idou – Satio. I’m not sure what this means in pig Latin or any other obscure language, but personally, I prefer the Idou. Satio sounds like a car Toyota would produce (was that the Latio?). Why can’t they call it the SonyEricsson Katana? That sounds way cooler.
I’m too lazy to do an analysis so late in the night, so here’s a copy and paste from SonyEricsson’s own blog:
Satio supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 900/2100 networks. Device has large 3.5″ 360×640 pixels TFT touchscreen, which has ratio 16:9 and supports up to 16,777,216 colors. Device supports SanDisk microSD™ memory cards and 8GB memory card will be included to the box. One of the main feature of the new Satiois, of course, a good camera. Satio has 12.1 megapixel camera with Xenon flash and intuitive touch focus, which helps you to take great images just in few seconds.
Satio has sizes 112 x 55 x 13 mm and weight 126 gram. Device is based on Symbian Foundation operating system (S60 5th edition Symbian™ OS). A lot of applications for this operating system already available online. More specifications of the new Sony Ericsson Satio can be found on the official Sony Ericsson site. And what about launch date of the new Satio? Less then 5 months left to the launch date of this multimedia smartphone. Yeah! The new Sony Ericsson Satio will be launched in October.
Ah, so it’s going to be launched in October, only a couple of months away. Pricing is unconfirmed.

i like it , because is xenon flash , i was thinking to have a phone with xenon flash,so i need not to bring a DC.
any XENON flash enable phone , dad you can tell.
i only can find the sony erisson one or 2 model.

@andy, haha, yeah, it’s a smartphone running the next generation Symbian OS from the Symbian Foundation.
There are two or three Nokia phones with Xenon flash, the only model that I know of is the N82, the others I’m not too sure about. And the N82 is widely regarded as the best Nokia camera phone.

@ilah, I honestly don’t know. I don’t know the expected price, nor expected launch date. I do not have a relationship with SonyEricsson Malaysia nor their media representatives. It will be above RM 3,000, if I had to bet.

i Spent rm2450 become ownner of this Satio on date 12/12/09 , i am happy and i give full confidence on this brand coz for the past few years gave me good respond and image but guess what happened this time ?
This phone ( satio ) sound fierce after i using not more than one week.Of course i bring back to the dealer, dealer guy told me that problem come from Phone Buzzer , he advise me walk in Penang perangin mall Sony Ericson head office to find out real problem.from his advise walk in is faster than dealer hand in. i take one day leave on the next day to do this rubbish job . Office hour board hang on the door 11.00am-7.30pm, saturday 11.00am-2.30pm.
I walk in without any attendant , i am surprised is 12.00pm noon now and no body sit infront cunter even ther are four counter on there. I shout anybody home….i saw all those guy gather behind drink coffee and chatting, finally one indian guy attend me take my phone to the back stage again about 15 minite. OK Result come out confirm Buzzer problem , advise again no spare part exchange , reason is new model . He advise me take back to dealer and from the dealer hand to Butterworth side ( note* i am staying bukit mertajam ) i wonder what is the different i walk in and hand over the phone direct to the dealer.??
i am very upset aout attitude of Head office SE service center. they suppose helping me and not pushing me away.So please SE high level , if u see this , please go personally Penang perangin mall 4 th floor service center do some survey.
Story not end , i wrote this on date 28/12/09 evening , until now i cannot get back my ” everybody good comment Satio “.
