If I haven’t managed to convince you yet through my multiple postings on this blog extolling the virtues of the MSI Wind model U100, one of which I own, then perhaps this review will push you over the edge. It reviews that “upgraded” U100, which comes equipped with a 160Gb (vs 80Gb for the older models), and a 6 cell battery. The review also covers the latest BIOS which allows for overclocking of the netbook. Overclocking means running the processor at a higher speed to process things faster, but doing this will reduce the battery run time as well.
I don’t want to spoil the review for you by saying too much, but here is a snippet from their conclusion section:
Overall, the MSI Wind U100 is still a pretty competitive unit. Ultimately the point of a netbook is to provide a cheap, luggable secondary computer you can bring with you on trips and the Wind fits the bill perfectly. With 6 hours of battery life, plenty of storage and enough performance for most of your out and about computing needs, the Wind remains a solid choice.
It’s nice to know that an old netbook like the U100 is still held in rather high regard by review sites. Click here for the review.
